Survivor, Flinders Ranges, SA

Survivor, Flinders Ranges, SA

Made famous by early 20th century photographer Harold Cazneaux, this tree signifies the Australian perserverance to survive in the harshest of climates.  From its huge snake-like roots branching out from the 5-7m diameter trunk base which extract every drop of moisture from the soil, to the many times the tree has evidently revived itself from near-death over hundreds of years, it is an inspiring symbol of endurance.
